Fourth of July in Haines is full of patriotism and old-fashioned family fun. Start your morning with the Mt. Ripinsky run, whether you want to run, walk or jog this fun event—or root everyone on as a bystander. It’s followed by a breakfast at the Legion, where flapjacks and succulent sides are the perfect post-race treat.

You won’t want to miss the mid-day Fireman’s BBQ where you can indulge in home-smoked entrees and delectable sides. This BBQ is where the entire community gathers to dine, celebrate and gear up for the evening fireworks. It takes place in tandem with the annual town parade where floats, marching bands and more bring a flourish to the festivities.

Evening Activities

After the parade, check out the mud volleyball and other events at the after party. Activities for little ones, food vendors and more are the perfect segue into the evening party. Other events are added as the town rallies together for one of the biggest and best holidays of the year.

Whether you’re a runner, pancake lover, adore a parade or simply want to pick up some fireworks yourself to celebrate, Haines is the ideal destination to spend your holiday weekend.
