Only open from June through September, the Haines Farmers Market is located at the Southeast Alaska Fairgrounds (296 Fair Drive). From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Saturday, head to the market and meet local growers, farmers, chefs and artists. It’s the perfect place to pick up seasonal, fresh and amazing produce and meats along with some of the best creative works, from paintings to pottery and jewelry.
Sustainable business is at the heart of the market, and it’s so much more than “just” a weekly shopping experience. It’s at the core of the local community and vital in bringing quality food, arts and quality of life to the region. If you truly want to experience the passion of Haines, a trip to the market is a must.
The Taste of Alaska
The best way to experience all the flavors of Alaska is by going right to the source. A variety of berries, vegetables and fruits are in season during the month of July, and the farmers market gives you a chance to taste them all. Food is a pathway to immersing yourself in a region, and you won’t want to miss out on this tasty introduction.
Every week, there are new items to uncover and growers at the stalls. What will you find when you go to market?
