Celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 29th with the Alaska Chinese Association. The Year of the Rooster crows in at this annual celebration held at East Anchorage High School. Enjoy cultural performances by various artists and celebrities. For travelers who wish to perform, if stage space allows, you can sign up until January 15th. This beloved event is where annual scholarships are awarded and notables travel from around the state to help celebrate, and it’s a fantastic way to learn more about the local Chinese community.

What to Expect

Door prizes, surprise goodies and endless performances await at this yearly event. Ticket sales help support all annual events as well as the local Chinese School and scholarships. All are welcome, and visitors especially delight in discovering one of the area’s communities not regularly featured on holiday tours.
