Indian River Trail

Indian River Trail has a distance of 5 miles and it is easy to hike. The trail is recommended for beginners in hiking to enjoy an adventure in the wildlands of Sitka. For a one-way hike, it will take about 2-3 hours. Although there are only a few bears in the area, there are many fish in the Indian River that can attract them. Other than that, Indian River Trail is one of the most relaxing hikes that you will experience in Sitka.

Gavan Hill Trail to Harbor Mountain

Once you have experienced an easy hike, it is now time to level up the experience to a moderate type of hike. Gavan Hill Trail to Harbor Mountain is a recommended hike for those who want to see the beautiful Alpine Wildflowers. Hiking Gavan Hill Trail to Harbor Mountain has a one-way distance of 6 miles that takes around 6-12 hours of adventure. You may enjoy skiing and snowshoeing here during winter but watch out for avalanche areas.

Causeway Trail

Have another relaxing and easy hiking experience when you hike Sitka Causeway Trail in Ft. Rousseau State Historical Park. You will find bunker remains from World War II along the way that will make this experience historical. Make sure to be careful if you are planning to explore the remains as they are too old!
