The local Chamber of Commerce hosts a major party every year for Independence Day. The family-friendly festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a parade that winds to Johna Beech from the Chamber. Dozens of groups show off their floats, skills, performances and more. Find a spot on Fidalgo Avenue, Willow Street, Kenai Spur Highway or the Main Street Loop for the best views. Around 100 participants ensure a fantastic show where candy is showered on spectators.

The local Dolfika Farms is known for helping to create some of the most intricate, gorgeous floats in the state. Organizations and businesses compete for awards and bragging rights, making this one of the most well-attended parades in the region. Thousands attend, and July in Kenai is known for great weather and up to 19 hours of daylight.
