It’s your last chance to hop on board the only tramway in southeast Alaska for 2017! Mount Roberts Tramway only operates May – September, and it boasts the title of being the only aerial tramway in this part of Alaska. Cars are lifted 1,800 feet in the air, whisked from the cruise ship dock in downtown all the way through the rainforest.

At the Mountain House, visitors enjoy incredible views of the city and the Gastineau Channel. It’s also extremely vertical, earning the Governor’s award for facility accessibility design. As an ADA compliant tramway, people of all ages and abilities are welcome on board. While it’s definitely a much-needed form of transportation in Juneau, it’s also a unique way to take in the landscape.
