Spring has sprung, and in Haines that means it’s time for the annual Spring Fling at the park stage on the fairgrounds. On the last Friday of the month, April 28, celebrate the warmer weather with the Southeast Alaska State Fair. The outdoor event welcomes locals and visitors for an evening of live music, dancing, bounce houses, and plenty of sizzling barbeque. The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. and you can party at this family-friendly gathering until well after sunset.
Challenge yourself at the climbing wall and take the kids for a face painting session. Here, you’ll be able to sample some of the best fare in Haines and visit cultural booths to learn more about the indigenous populations throughout Alaska. It’s the biggest party of the season, and one you don’t want to miss.
Spring is in the Air
After a chilly winter of bunkering down, Haines residents are ready to party come the end of April. Admission is just $10, or you can upgrade to an all-access pass to enjoy a free dinner and a four-day pass to the state fair. You’ll also be entered into a raffle for two connoisseur tasting tickets to the Great Alaska Craft Beer and Home Brew Festival.
Experience the best Haines has to offer and get a sneak peek at fair season.
