From July through May, the 4th Avenue Indoor Marketplace at 333 W. Fourth Avenue happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. With free admission, it’s a fantastic way to support local Alaska artists and pick up some seriously unique gifts, keepsakes, treats and more. From homemade goodies to artwork, crafts and jewelry, this quintessential Alaska experience is open rain, shine, sleet or snow.

Tucked inside the Banquet Port View Room, a gorgeous venue with a view of the inlet, you’ll find something different every time you go to market. From antique dealers to craftsmen working on projects as you shop, there are always new artists signing up for booth space. Get an energy boost at the café, open for breakfast and brunch, or spice things up with a plate from the Thai restaurant.

Downtown

Easily accessible to The Alaska Experience Theatre, Historical Veterans Museum, and Downtown Bicycle Rental, it’s easy to make a full day of it when starting at the 4th Avenue Indoor Marketplace. Nowhere else in Alaska can you find so many skilled artists and cooks showing off their skills and offering their work for sale.

Whether you’re in the mood for some local smoked salmon, are shopping for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, or you’re looking for your own keepsake to take home, you’ll find it right here. Indigenous artists are well represented, and there’s nothing like meeting and connecting with the artists whose work you’ve fallen in love with.
