(Technically it was filmed in New Zealand and the filmmakers got the seasons wrong as any Alaskan will point out, but it’s still an Alaska October tradition to watch!). If you’re brave enough to venture out after that thrill-fest, there’s the Fright Night Haunted House now in its 29^th year!

Explore 10,000 square feet of chills at the second biggest haunted house in the state. Can you survive the onslaught of zombies, ghouls and monsters—and can you handle it in 3D? For something a little less spooky, the Frightening 4k encourages costumes and you’ll find treats at every kilometer.

The Mat-Su Animal Care Shelter’s annual A-Mazing Haunted House benefits the shelter and is a feature Halloween weekend. It’s not nearly as petrifying as the bigger option and there are family-friendly options galore. Games, treats and a few tricks are sure to be found.

Hop on the Alyeska Halloween Train for a 21+ event like no other. Taking you from Anchorage to Girdwood with a stop at the hotel for a buffet dinner, there’s a zombie dance party and plenty of prizes. Which haunt will you venture to first?
