Located at 36100 Kenai Spur Hwy., Nikko Garden is Soldotna’s only sushi restaurant specializing in Asian cuisine and unique rolls. Many of the staple rolls utilize local, fresh catches and ingredients. Although reservations aren’t usually required, you may want to call ahead if you plan on dining out on Valentine’s Day.
The Alaska is unsurprisingly one of the more popular options, featuring a California roll topped with fresh, local salmon. The Boyfriend is perfect for Valentine’s Day, with spicy tuna topped with caviar and eel. You’ll also want to try the namesake Nikko with spicy crab meat, avocado, tempura shrimp and cucumber.
Fine Dining
Choose from two-piece sushi, a full roll, sashimi, the Ahi Tower, combinations, hand rolls or appetizers. Baked mussels and Kyoto shrimp are fantastic ways to start your romantic meal. Add on the spicy scallop hand roll or the squid tempura for something special. A seaweed or baby octopus salad also pairs well with the sushi options.
The Love Boat combination is idyllic for the holiday, or you might want to try local albacore tuna sashimi. From the yellowtail sashimi to the halibut tempura, you can’t go wrong with the fantastic selection at this favorite restaurant.
