Where is Soldotna Located?

Soldotna is a city that is located in Alaska’s south-central region on the Kenai Peninsula’s central-western portion. The Kenai River, which drains into the Cook Inlet at the nearby city of Kenai, runs through the city borders, spanning 7 square miles. And because of its hunting and fishing opportunities, it was selected as one of the World’s 15 Best Rivers for Travelers.

Soldotna Local Resources

Due to the location of the city at the junction of the Sterling Highway and the Kenai Spur Highway, Soldotna was able to develop a service and retail hub for the Central Peninsula. The Central Peninsula Hospital fulfills the medical needs of the residents and visitors. The Kenai River Campus is operated by the Kenai Peninsula College. If you are looking for the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Kenai Peninsula Borough and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District whose headquarters is in the city.

Recreation & Entertainment

For entertainment opportunities, parks, farmer markets and recreational activities, Soldotna also has it all. One of the suggested places to visit is the Tsalteshi Trails, which is located at the south side of Soldotna. It contains over 25 kilometers of trails that are good for cross country skiing in the winter, and it is open for runners, hikers, bikers as well. Your pet dogs are welcome too! Just make sure there is no snow.
