Your next meal is literally fresh off the boat at this tram-side, local hot spot specializing in fish—of course. This little gem has been a local delight since 2000 and is just a few steps from the cruise ship pier. Here, you’ll find the best in seafood where the cedar interiors and massive windows provide the perfect ambiance. It’s a casual pick, also home to the biggest wine bar in Alaska. Batter up, but first, the appetizers.

For “nibbles,” try the Alaskan Lox Plate with sockeye and hot smoked salmon, red onions and capers. The hot crab and artichoke dip comes with toasted crostini, and the Lazy Sushi with Sriracha cream is a must. Fresh steamer clams, oysters on the half shell and the prawn cocktail are also on the menu.

What a Catch

Soups and salads include clam chowder, hot and sour crab soup, and an ahi spinach salad. All entrees come with herb and cheese twisted bread knots and your pick of twisted fries, sticky rice, scalloped potatoes, or upgrade to onion rings. They pair well with baked salmon in puff pastry, the king crab pounder, smoked black cod, and halibut gnocchi.

Try the Twisted Fish Burger with parmesan crust, Twisted Salmon Tacos with coleslaw and Spanish rice, or the Salmon Pie Pizza with lox, caviar and capers. For some twisted treats, indulge in brownies and cream, turtle pie, moose track pie (it’s Alaska!), key lime pie or the strawberry rhubarb fool with honey.
