Head to the Chilkat Center throughout December for Holly Jolly Christmas Follies. Check with the Center for performance days and times, as new events are regularly added. A number of variety shows are fun for the whole family, and most start at 4 p.m. to allow for a leisurely post-show dinner. You won’t want to miss out on seasonal musicals, plays and much more.

The Annual Community Christmas Celebration happens throughout December with a number of activities for all ages. Write a letter to Santa and drop it in the local post office so that it can be delivered to the big man up north. There’s a cookies and candies contest hosted by the Chilkat Center, and the Haines Sheldon Museum is hosting Santa for selfies and meet and greets.

At the local library, Mrs. Claus is leading storytime throughout the month as well as carols and songs. From the Haines Uglys’ Gifts for Grub Toy Drive in December at the American Legion to holiday parades and more, keep a close eye on the Chilkat Center for a full month of holiday cheer.
