Anchorage celebrates Independence Day with a three-day event starting with the July 3 downtown breakfast roundup. Indulge with a Ship Creek Benedict or embrace the seafood options with a Crabby Omelet before taking a stroll around Town Square Park to check out the decorations.
In the evening, the Eagle River Lions Club hosts the annual Independence Day Celebration at Lions Park. Thousands flock here for the sky diving extravaganza, games and food vendors that highlight the flavors of the region. It all starts at 6:30 and ends with a massive fireworks display.
Go “Fourth” and Celebrate
On July 4th, the annual pancake breakfast gets the party started at 8 a.m. downtown before the Anchorage 4th of July Parade begins at 11 a.m. Post-parade, keep the festivities going at Delaney Park Strip from noon – 6 p.m. with food vendors, carnival rides and plenty of games. Music in the Park at Peratrovich Park is from noon – 1 p.m.
The evening includes Live After Five from 5 – 8 with a patriotic theme in Town Square Park. Fireworks explode late at 11:20 p.m. On July 5th, a popular attraction is the aerial tram at Alyeska Resort, where you can get a bird’s eye view of the Last Frontier.
