Get properly introduced to Alaska aboard the Alyeska Tramway, an aerial tram suitable for all ages and abilities. It’s one of the best and quickest ways to take in sweeping views of the glaciers, mountains and waterways. Soaring 2,300 feet above the sea, you’ll have the option of two mountaintop dining experiences as well as the Roundhouse Museum and hiking trails.
The tram fits 60 passengers and takes just three to five minutes. Bring your camera and get ready to spot some of the higher flying wildlife of the region, including bald eagles. In the summer, guided tours are available including interpretive hikes along the Ascending Path. Glacier Treks for adventurous souls also begin from the tram.
Romance is in the Air
On the Upper Tram Terminal you can enjoy an outdoor viewing deck and your choice of two restaurants, both featuring local flavors and innovative dishes. The Glacier Express Café is famed for their halibut and chips, as well as reindeer sausage. At Seven Glaciers Restaurant, fine dining is open for dinner only during the summer months. Try the Chef’s Tasting Menu for a real treat.
Whether you’re on a date, family outing, flying solo or taking the tram as a corporate event, a great time is guaranteed during this life-changing experience. What will you discover above the Last Frontier?
