One of the biggest runs in Alaska takes place over two-days and welcomes runners of nearly all ages and abilities. From a kid’s fun run to a 49k Ultra marathon, it’s the pinnacle event for a local organization that’s completely volunteer-led and backed by donations. It’s also one of the latest races in the country for Boston Marathon hopefuls looking to qualify, so you’ll find some of the most elite athletes in the world racing alongside first timers.
RunFest features gorgeous scenery and mild temperatures matched with the best running weather. You’ll start in downtown Anchorage no matter which race you sign up for and quickly zip to the coastline and through Anchorage’s greenbelt. It’s known as a seriously “wild run,” and you’ll likely spy some local wildlife along the course.
Runner’s High Like Never Before
It started as a small, local event and has expanded to a weekend festival that attracts runners from around the world.
