The peninsula is full of spooky activities throughout October, like Halloween Kids Craft at the nearby Soldotna Library where kids can make x-ray hands, bats and many more ghoulish crafts. Check out the annual Pie and Dessert Auction hosted by the Soldotna Chamber, the only fundraiser of the year! Costumes are encouraged, and you can purchase tickets in advance at the official site.

Work off those candy corn calories early at the 5k Costume Run and Fall Carnival, part of the Community Food Drive where canned/non-perishable food items are required for entry. There’s a costume contest at this family-friendly event which starts at the NPRSA trails. Try your hand at Scary Pumpkin Sculpting in a class that provides all the tools (you bring the pumpkin!) to make the most terrifying pumpkin of your life. Hosted by the Kenai Community Library, call 283-4378 for more information.
