Held the first weekend in December, the Sitka Artisans Market is hosted by the Greater Sitka Arts Council and is the perfect place to find one of a kind treasures for yourself—or holiday gifts for loved ones. Head to Allen Hall and discover incredible gems made by local, Alaskan artists including paintings, jewelry, woodworking, sweet treats and much more.
December 1-3 offers three full days of events and shopping where you can meet and mingle with the artisans and makers. The pop up event at historic SJ campus is an idyllic venue. From fine art to knick knacks you just have to have, it’s one of the most popular art events in Sitka.
What’s in Store
The energetic event draws authors, musicians, gourmet chefs and many more creatives. Nowhere else in December can you sample scratch-made goodies while you peruse fine art and funky jewelry. You’ll also discover a trove of ornaments, holiday decorations, handmade cards and other seasonal delights.
Competition for vendor space is fierce, and the market always fills up in August. That means only the best will be at your disposal for a long weekend of discovering new must-have items. To keep track of vendors, follow the official website. There’s no telling what you might discover.
