Aside from being the largest city, Anchorage also offers several spots that you can explore. This city is filled with cultural sites where you can see some traditional displays such as replicas of dwellings from the area’s native people. There are stage dances and you can also go to the nearby wilderness and mountains. So many things that you can actually do here and here are some of them.

Helicopter Tour with Glacier Landing

Try this exciting Helicopter tour in Anchorage! From Chugach Adventure camp, it takes about 60 minutes to take you over the Knik River and Glacier through the Great Gorge towards Colony Glacier, Whiteout Glacier and Lake George. But during the winter months, due to the snow covers and to ensure your safety, the helicopter may not be able to land directly on top of the glacier. It might be on the side next to the deep blue formations. 

Flora and Fauna Nature Walk 

Want to go on an easy hike? Come and visit Flora and Fauna, you will be able to witness a lovely waterfall and a great diversity of vegetation in a mixed coastal and boreal rainforest. There are species like paper birch, giant spruce, willows, berries and many more that are just waiting for you to explore. 

Summer Valley and Forest Hike

A tour in Chugach State Park is a must. You will be awed by the glorious Eagle River Trail system. There are boreal forests and salmon spawning streams. If you are a nature lover, you will probably love it here. Now, come on! You will have nothing to lose if you try, right?
